Technology Transfer Office, established in 2012, acts as an interface between the research developed at the Humanitas Research Hospital and the business community in the life science sector.

 

The mission of the Technology Transfer Office is to create value from know-how, intellectual property, technology platforms and projects available at Humanitas Research Hospital.

 

 

We are currently looking for an Intellectual Property Associate to provide support in the intellectual property management area. Intellectual Property Associate will work under the supervision of the Head of Technology Transfer Officer and will contribute to the following activities:

 

  • Manage patenting process, with the task of: scouting of new inventions through the participation to seminars and internal retreats, evaluating findings and technologies through analysis of patentability over the state of the art and freedom to operate analyses, assisting in the assembly of supporting data and documentation; assisting in drafting, filing and prosecuting patent applications;
  • Manage inventorship and ownership issues;
  •  Preparation of the reports and communications for the IP Committee and organization of the meetings with the IP Committee when required.
  • Assist with drafting of inter-institutional agreements, Non Disclosure Agreements and Material Transfer Agreements;
  • Maintain and organize patent case files and monitor patent prosecution and renewal terms
  • Support of contractual obligations within ongoing partnerships, evaluation and negotiation of terms and conditions (including financial and IP) provided under a variety of contracts (including secrecy agreements, options, and licenses), and performing other duties as assigned, liaison between researchers and industrial partners.

 

Required Qualifications: Master Degree in life sciences; fluent written and spoken English; experience in patenting and licensing; proven analytical, organizational, interpersonal, communication and transactional skills; ability to handle a wide variety of projects simultaneously while working with different professionals including faculty, staff, attorneys, research sponsors, venture capitalists, and industry representatives; caseload requires an individual who is responsive, team-oriented, resourceful, deal-oriented, and highly efficient; confidentiality and ability to meet deadlines is important.

Preferred Qualifications: Ph.D. or comparable in life sciences

 

The position will be located in Rozzano (Milan) at Humanitas Research Hospital.
