About the Role:

We are seeking a highly motivated and experienced Senior Bioinformatician to join our cutting-edge research team focused on metabolomics and lipidomics analysis within the context of lysosomal storage disorders (LSDs) models. The successful candidate will lead the bioinformatics component of the project, applying advanced data science techniques to interpret complex biological data generated from mass spectrometry and other high-throughput experiments.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Lead metabolomics and lipidomics data analysis, interpretation, and integration.
  • Utilize computational tools and pipelines to analyze large-scale datasets generated from lysosomal storage disorders models.
  • Apply machine learning techniques to discover patterns and biomarkers from complex datasets.
  • Work collaboratively with cross-functional teams, including biologists and chemists, to provide data-driven insights and actionable hypotheses.
  • Develop and maintain high-performance computing (HPC) workflows for large-scale bioinformatics analysis.
  • Design and implement reproducible bioinformatics pipelines using Python, R, Bash, and containerized environments (e.g., Docker, Singularity).
  • Contribute to the development of tools and methodologies for mass spectrometry-based metabolomics, lipidomics.
  • Present findings to the team, prepare reports, and contribute to scientific publications.

Essential Qualifications:

  • PhD in Bioinformatics, Data Science, Computational Biology, or related field.
  • At least 1-3 years of postdoctoral experience in bioinformatics or data science, preferably with a focus on metabolomics, lipidomics, or systems biology.
  • Strong proficiency in Python, R, Bash, and HPC for bioinformatics applications.
  • Experience with machine learning techniques and their application in omics data.
  • Familiarity with containerization technologies (e.g., Docker, Singularity) for reproducible research.
  • Demonstrated expertise in bioinformatics pipeline development and high-throughput data integration.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills in English.

Desirable Qualifications:

  • Previous experience in mass spectrometry data analysis.
  • Expertise in metabolomics, lipidomics data analysis and interpretation.
  • Knowledge of the principles of systems biology and network analysis.
