Predoctoral | Cardiovascular Stem Cell Biology Lab

A predoctoral position is available in the group of Dr. Marianna Paulis at the Cardiovascular Stem Cell Biology Lab, Humanitas Research Hospital, Rozzano (Milan), Italy.

The laboratory focuses on applying human induced pluripotent stem cell (iPSC) technology to develop gene therapy approaches for genetic disorders caused by chromosomal abnormalities, with a particular emphasis on X-linked conditions. Our main research involves generating and correcting iPSCs from patients with genetic diseases, and after correction, differentiating these cells into various tissues. A recent focus of our work is the development of human organoids derived from iPSCs, which serve as a valuable bridge between laboratory research and animal models.

We employ a wide range of cutting-edge techniques, including classical and molecular cytogenetics, CRISPR/Cas9 genome editing, electrophysiology, advanced imaging, and functional analyses of genetically corrected cells.
