Post-doctoral position - Laboratory of Experimental Immunopathology

The Garlanda Lab in the Humanitas Research Hospital is seeking a post-doctoral fellow to lead cutting edge research in cancer immunology, focused on regulation of cancer-related inflammation. In particular, we are developing a project on complement and cancer.

We are looking for a highly motivated and independent researcher with a Ph.D. in immunology, biology, or a related field. Candidates must have at least a first-author publication and proven research ability in the immunology and/or cancer biology areas.

Hands-on experience in tumor animal models and flow cytometry is required. Experience in the following techniques is also helpful but not required: microscopy, cellular biology, molecular biology and biochemistry, transcriptomics, immunohistochemistry, in vivo techniques.

A successful candidate will have a strong work ethic, strong organizational skills, excellent critical thinking abilities, excellent ability to work as part of a team and a desire to push the boundaries of existing knowledge. The postdoctoral researcher will work under supervision but will be expected to lead methods development, lead manuscript and grant writing efforts, conduct independent research and supervise junior researchers.
