Laboratory Technician | Tumor and Microenvironment Unit

 

The Tumor and Microenvironment Unit, led by Dr. Diletta Di Mitri at Humanitas Clinical and Research Center, Milan, is seeking talented researchers to join our dynamic research team. We are recruiting a postdoctoral fellow, a bioinformatician, and a laboratory technician to contribute to cutting-edge projects funded by the Associazione Italiana per la Ricerca sul Cancro (AIRC) and Fondo Italiano per la Scienza (FIS).

Our research focuses on dissecting the complex interactions between tumors and their surrounding microenvironment, particularly investigating the role of immune cells and the extracellular matrix in metastasis formation. A core aspect of our work is to explore the influence of innate immune cell subsets on tumor progression, metastasis, and therapeutic resistance, with the ultimate goal of developing innovative immunotherapeutic strategies to reprogram the tumor microenvironment and fight cancer.

Key Tasks and Responsibilities:

The lab technician will assist in a wide range of laboratory activities, including maintaining mouse colonies and supporting the team in conducting experiments. You will also manage lab inventory and assist with electronic orders.

 

You’re the perfect candidate if you have:

  • Strong organizational skills and the ability to work independently.
  • Experience in cellular and molecular biology.
  • Proficiency in animal handling, genotyping, and colony management.
  • Experience in tissue preparation and staining is a plus.
  • Knowledge of standard cellular and molecular biology protocols
