Junior Post-Doc

Rozzano, IT, 20089

Applications are invited for a Junior PostDoc position at the Istituto Clinico Humanitas,
Milan (Italy) in the lab of Dr Cristina Sobacchi. The overall goal of Dr Sobacchi’s research
activity is to contribute to the understanding of molecular and cellular mechanisms acting
in the pathophysiology of the bone tissue. Specific objectives are the elucidation of the
etiopathogenesis of rare and common skeletal diseases through studies in patients and
mouse models, and the development of new therapeutic strategies in preclinical models.
The group is located in a very well equipped state-of-the-art Institution, which offers an
international and vibrant research environment.
Specifically, we are seeking to appoint a cellular scientist with a strong track record of
research excellence in osteoimmunology. The work will be focused on assessing the role
of RANKL, a master cytokine in osteoimmunological networks, in relation to stemness
features of murine and human cells. The project will entail handling of human material and
experimental animal work.
Experience in relevant techniques (flow cytometry, molecular biology, cell cultures, animal
handling) is strongly required. Motivation, adaptability and proven ability to work
independently will be greatly valued.
