Pieve Emanuele, IT, 20090
The GEMINI Project
The GEMINI project, "Digital Twins by Generative Artificial Intelligence to Boost Personalized Medicine and Therapeutic Innovation", led by Humanitas Research Hospital, Humanitas AI Center, and Humanitas University, has been funded by the Ministry of University and Research under the FISA program.
Over the next five years, the goal is to develop a model based on innovative and scalable AI algorithms and real-world data (Digital Twin) that replicates the biological and clinical complexity of human diseases with a high social impact (such as cancers, debilitating chronic diseases, and rare diseases).
The ultimate aim is to provide physicians and patients with a validated and transparent tool to support critical aspects of clinical management, including diagnosis, prognosis, and optimal treatment selection.
Job Description
We are looking for a dynamic Cloud & AI Infrastructure Architect capable of working independently to solve complex problems and develop innovative solutions. You will be the owner of our technical environment, bridging the gap between software development, cloud infrastructure, and AI deployment. You will design the architecture from the ground up, ensuring scalability, security, and efficiency.
Key Responsibilities:
- Cloud Architecture & Management: Design, develop, and manage the entire cloud infrastructure (GCP or Azure) for our SaaS applications. Ensure the environment is scalable, secure, and cost-effective.
- AI Infrastructure & MLOps: Architect and maintain the infrastructure required for AI workloads, including deploying Python-based neural network inference services on GPU-enabled nodes (e.g., using EKS or similar)
- Infrastructure as Code & Automation: Implement and manage CI/CD pipelines (using tools like GitHub Actions) to automate testing and deployment. Containerize applications using Docker and orchestrate them with Kubernetes
- Software Design & Quality: Oversee the application code quality, performing refactoring, applying design patterns, and ensuring robust unit and integration testing.
- Tech Stack Leadership: Manage the technology selection and evolution, covering backend technologies (e.g., Python), databases (SQL & NoSQL), and middleware.
- Compliance & Reliability: Ensure the infrastructure meets strict data retention, backup policies, and security regulations (e.g., GDPR).
Requirements (Hard Skills):
- Experience: Proven professional experience as a Cloud Architect or Senior Developer
- Cloud Expertise: Deep knowledge of GCP (Compute Instance, Cloud Run) or Microsoft Azure (Functions, App Service, etc).
- Containerization: Expertise in Docker and Kubernetes for orchestration
- Development Stack: Proficiency in Python, TypeScript.
- Databases: Experience with both Relational (SQL Server, PostgreSQL) and NoSQL databases (MongoDB, Redis, CosmosDB)
- DevOps: Hands-on experience with CI/CD tools (GitHub Actions, ArgoCD)
Nice to Have
- Certifications such as Microsoft Azure or GCP.
- Academic background in Computer Engineering or Applied Machine Learning
- Experience ensuring compliance in regulated sectors (e.g., Medical Devices, Fintech)
- Knowledge of frontend frameworks like ReactJs
Soft Skills
- Ability to lead a technical vision and coordinate projects effectively.
- Strong problem-solving skills and a focus on process optimization with self-motivation, commitment and proactive approach.
- Excellent communication skills for training or mentoring potential future team members.
