RIFERIMENTO CUP, COMMESSA: E23C24000190006, KMN306
TITOLO DEL PROGETTO: From translational research to clinical trials design in non-endemic nasopharyngeal cancer: a road map to improve patient prognosis
Humanitas Research Hospital is a highly specialised research and university hospital. It is the first Italian hospital certified for its excellence by the Joint Commission International as Academic Hospital and it hosts a research center, as well as the residency programs and clinical training of Humanitas University, an international Medical School that stands out for its real-world simulation-based approach to medical training.
Humanitas Research is made possible every day by more than 500 passionate physicians, biologists, physicists, data scientists and technologists, that work in the hospital wards and across 10.000 square meters of high-tech laboratories at the Humanitas University campus. Their common mission is advancing science to make a difference in patients' life.
Humanitas Research is guided by unmet clinical needs and it leverages high-end technologies to dissect the molecular and cellular mechanisms underlying human pathologies in fields ranging from cardiovascular medicine to neuroscience, from immunology to cancer and microbiology, with the final goal of developing new therapies and new diagnostic and prognostic strategies. The institute is recognized worldwide for its contribution to the field of tumor immunology and to the understanding of the inflammation-cancer connection.
Fields of work:
- Head and neck cancers; response to immune checkpoint inhibitors; liquid biopsy; microbiome; treatment resistance (primary and acquired).
- Relapsed and Refractory Large B Cell Lymphoma (R/R LBCL) treated with T-Cell Redirecting Therapies (Bispecifics antibodies; CAR T-Cells) and monitored with longitudinal sequencing of circulating tumor DNA.
Key Tasks and Responsibilities
The candidate will analyze different types of sequencing data:
- Genomic and epigenomic
- Spatial transcriptomics and single cell data
In the context of a translational research project, sequencing data will be integrated with other data types, such as clinical-pathological features associated with recruited cases.
You’re the perfect candidate if you have:
- Master’s degree in bioinformatics/engineering/physics/mathematics/biotechnology or equivalent
- PhD in biomedical sciences/life science/biotechnology or equivalent;
- At least 3 years of experience in the application of bioinformatics to experimental research.
- Documented experience in collaborating on open-source projects.
- Good knowledge of Python, R, Bash. Knowledge of Git and containers (Docker, Singularity).
- Good knowledge of workflow languages (nextflow).
- Knowledge of high-performance computing (HPC) systems.
- Good knowledge of machine learning approaches.
- Motivation independence
- Ability to interact effectively with other members of the team.
Additional requirements we are looking for:
- Knowledge of written and spoken English (B2).
- Excellent communication skills.
- Ability to work in a team.
